New year, new me? (a story of DEB-velopment Hell)

I wouldn't call it development "hell" as much as I'd call it "limbo". No, more like a temporary pause due to circumstances (school).

Well, happy 2023, everyone. It's been absolute ages since I've been back with anything to say about the development of this game, but to put it simply:

My final year of school is really taking up more time than I'd like. Also I've been in a terrible writer's block for...several months, while trying to rewrite First Year, and figure out the entire story's plot. And in an attempt to get rid of it, I decided something:

I'm making this story a psychological horror!

At least, loosely. Low-fantasy-psychological-horror, I suppose. Honestly, I had a feeling it was going to go this route, but I'd been holding back from it. Until now. Sort of. Horror isn't really the genre I expected I would ever go into, since I consider myself to be quite a sensitive person. And yet, here I am.

How much do I want to bet that once my exams are over, I will get all of my inspiration back? I'm not sure. I'm not one to gamble. Though, to be fair, after exams are over, I'll most likely be back to working on this, with intense, burning resolve.

(Heh, see what I did in the title? "DEB-velopment hell"? Because Double-Edged Blade... DEB... Development... DEB-velopment... okay I'm going back to maths now)
